koni sport kit
koni sport kit
Has anybody heard of this. It looks like a matched spring and strut that is made by koni. I have seen it at couple of websites. It looks like it lowers the car 1.38 inches. So does anybody have any experience with this kit?

Looks like they make it for my 04 civic. this is a pretty attractive offering since the spring rates match the shock and it comes in one box. Almost same price as koni/eibach springs.
Which vendor here wants to start a group buy?!
Here is the Manufacturers web site

It is height adjustable. not much but i dont want to adjust height. i want to set it and forget it.
"The New KONI 1130 SPORT KIT delivers a car lowering up to 40-45 mm (1.70 to 1.85 Inches), giving your car the aggressive, sportive appearance you were looking for. At the same time it gives you unrivalled, razor edge handling performance, sublime car reaction to steering input and considerable reduction in dynamic vehicle roll."

That much adjustability is present in the Koni yellow's. It's a standard feature... You just pull the collar down, thus bringing the perch down, to make the car lower. That's not too great, but if that's what you want

too bad I already have my setup.. thats too expensive neway, but for koni, its not too bad of a deal, do you still have to tear it apart and rebuild it w/ stock parts? or whatever the koni yellows make you do? thats one of the main reasons I got tokico cause they dont need any stock parts besides bump stops, etc all the easy stuff to do..

Ahh spoken like a true sales guy...
I think it really depends on how much the street price is and if the springs are any good.
If theyre a well matched set, it'll be a nice upgrade.

The dampers are adjustable. Theyre Koni Yellows with Koni springs. Considering that just the Koni dampers are 550-600 bucks on average, its not a bad deal at all. This again is assuming the springs are decent. I cant imagine that theyre any worse then some of the cheaper brands, in fact I bet theyre really nicely matched up.

So what is best setup for daily driver who is looking for more sporty handling and lower stance?
Wait for Dspec to fit 04 civic or Koni Sport kit which comes with matching springs?
I am not too interested in coilovers. I am more of a set it and forget it type guy.

I have my order in for these. Look for a great group buy starting tomorrow in the "Marketplace"
A Koni Rep told me several weeks ago that the springs are matched! but they are not made by koni, rather a european spring maker. Never heard of them and they are not bilstein. I will take my chances on a matched setup from Koni before spending the extra loot for eibach or neuspeed springs. Worst case the koni branded springs suck and you swap them out.
Just make sure you get a really good mechanic who knows what they are doing to install these. Suspension is prob the most important part of your car next to the engine/tranny.
and bookmark this page for the install. http://www.hondatuningmagazine.com/t...on/index.html#

I am 90% sure it is 55mm. But I am no mechanic or expert. You might want to call koni to confirm. I am buying the 55mm. I'll let you know.

I just got off with tech at Koni. GREEEEAAAATTT NEWS!.
the lifetime warranty is for both shocks and springs! You dont ever have to pay for shocks or springs again for the life of the car, and who cares if honda wont cover your shocks/springs? Koni will cover it.

I have no doubt the product is great. i think opinions will vary on install. I am not going to mess with this so I am paying acostamotorsports.com to do the install. if they can fit in a tri-rotor 800whp turbo engine into the new mazda rx8, koni inserts/springs should be a piece of cake.

^ scratch that! I need a shop that will install the koni sport kit for march 5th.
Anyone recommend someone who can do a clean job? as good as koni themselves from this write up, http://www.hondatuningmagazine.com/t...on/index.html#
I sent an email to some reputable shops, but the concensus I keep getting is, they rather try to sell me coilovers because they are easier to install.
I need your help in finding a shop that is very familiar with Honda's and Installing Koni inserts in tri-state area.
