Camber kit Question!

hey im putting on progress springs with 215/45 tires, and i heard the back rubs with a camber kit. I was curious if ne1 here does NOT have a camber kit.. have you noticed any excessive tire wear, i know i should get one, but ive read about many cases where people have not had any problems with our cars. anything you could offer would be great. thanks

i would suggest the camber kit if the rear camber is out of specs. Best senario is to have the alignment checked if its out buy the kit, if adjusting it causes the tire to rub then back it off just till it dont rub and mantain the best possible camber setting. And dont forget camber isnt the main tire wearing factor on front or back, TOE is !!!! So as far as that goes can you get by with out the kit YES! Will you get better tire wear with the camber kit ? Most likely yes!

Uhhh.......excessive camber WILL cause severe tire wear. Toe is not the only tire wearing angle there is.

Please re-read my post pay attention to words in red. I never said that camber wont wear tires, but that toe is a much more important tire wearing factor. Ive been doing alignments for over 18 years i know what will and wont cause tire wear even in spec on camber on certain cars will get tire wear that is caused from camber. But nine times out of ten TOE is more important then camber as far as tire wearing and nine times out of ten toe is overlooked on this message forum all they seem to be concerned about is camber. I was just pointing out the importance of toe as a reminder!

They will tell you. I am putting my camber kit on tomorrow, I hope I can get it pretty da** straight. I just got an alignment. It was only 80 bucks though. My toe is perfect, camber -3

If they cant see the problem then they shouldnt be doing alignments. You shouldnt need to ask them to do thier job, be sure to ask for a print out and ask what the warranty is on before you have it done. If you have questions post what they aligned it to.
