Tie rod end question *FIXED*

What is the easiest way to get the tie rod end off? I need to replace mine as I am a dumbass and damaged the threads.


I was able to muscle it off, and put the new tie rod end on, yippeee!!

I'm not sure, but how did you damage the threads? From experience I know that tie rods are pretty strong. They just basically unscrew off.

-keep the whole strut in place
-loosen the nut thats right next to the tie rod
-remove the tie rod from the strut using a tie rod puller(not seperator) you can rent it from autozone for free
-now take off the tie rod by turning it(count how many turns it takes to take it off).
-put on the new tie rod with the number of turns you got from above.
and hopefully you know the rest...

use some liquid wrench or WD40 lubricant. Hold the tie rod with a wrench and hold the bolt with a wrench, Twist in different ways to get it loose. Brace your wrench on something and try to knock it loose.

get the alignment checked after replacing it too, even counting threads can be off!
