Weird Noise

I have the tein basic coilovers and this is my first week with them. I am getting a grinding, squeeking noise from the right rear. It has gotten worse over the past few days. At first it would just make noise over big bumps, now it does it when somebody just gets in the passenger seat.

the squeaking is caused by your stock struts bottoming out and hitting the rubber bumpstop. makes sense, rubber combined with the added pressure of lowering springs = squeaking, especially in cold weather.

inifinte i think were talking about aftermarket coilovers and yea is it the dust boot cover, the rubber things we cut and how much or is it the bumpstops that we need to cut? i heard if u cut the bumpstops it might bottom out and hit the body of the car. help would be appreciated cuz im getting this done tomorrow morning.

no thats not the dust boots. the dust boots is the hard plastic tube between the spring and shock they are only in the rear. the front ones you dont need to do anything with them. the bump stops can be cut if you are using aftermarket springs. but if you have full true coil overs they are already the right length from the factory. on the dust boots i cut mine about an inch. hope that helps some if hit up the rep
