shocks for about a 2" drop
shocks for about a 2" drop
im searching but cant find much. im looking for shocks on an 03 civic with a drop of about 2". some say that tokicos cant handle that low of a drop and some have said that koni's either but some say yes they will. which shocks would work best with that low of a drop. also, have you heard any problems consisting the modifications needed of any shocks for the 03?
tokico's are not recommended for a 2" drop. 1.5-1.7 work best with tokico blues. and yes, for the 2003+ civic models, when installing tokico blues, you have to extend the knuckle bolt from 14mm to 16mm. honda decided to use larger bolts on the 03+ civics i guess. this goes for the fronts only that i know of. rears will slip right in as if it were an 01-02.
koni yellows would be a great choice of a shock for a 2" drop depending what springs go with it. they are pretty dam pricey tho so i guess thats why no one has them..
check out the shock/damper faq page.

search for koni in the suspension forum. Any time there is modding and not a direct swap you increase the chance for error. Also, the rear perch may fall out, but I think they fixed that. I would suggest konis just because of their reputation. If you are looking for a decent alternative, the D-spec tokicos would be a good choice.

Since goldlines are supposedly 1.75, you should be ok, did you measure your drop? I would think .05 wouldnt matter too much in difference. I ordered tokico blues last tues, and am ordering goldlines this monday. Did they settle at about 2 inches? that would be nice to know.
