Just REALLY look them over make sure they're in good condition. Hey jdm_bb, is the guy selling v1 or v2 Hayames? The issues seem to be centered around the new arm design on the v2's (which on mine have no problems still). But I admit, people happy with Hayames are a minority, so make sure the price and condition match up.
i have no problems at all with my hayames, they are the v2's. i got no finger gap all the way around. no problems at all. they are for sale to if you are interested. perfect condition.

I had problems with my Hayames. I had 2 different sets sent out to me and both were defective. The rears I had no issues with, i could slam them as low as I wanted and I had no issues. I just had issue with the front struts. The thing that kept going bad on my front Hayames is that when I get them put on the car and put the tires on, i could wiggle the tire left and right when it was bolted on as tight as it would go. Due to that wiggle it caused extreme tire wear on my front tires causing them to be replaced in less than a month. Keep in mind my tires were brand new and than they turned to complete slicks in about 600 miles. Everytime I would hit a bump it would adjust the caster (toe) of the tire shifting it left or right causing extreme wear. The wiggle was due to a defect in the shaft of the strut. It wasnt a tight fit making them defective. Since then i've sent back my Hayames and replaced them with D2's. For all the pain and time and money i've gone through, i could have had a nice set of Tein's installed on my car. So yeah, i learned my lesson the hard way. The $650.00 Hayames went to nearly $1,200 for the final set i'm on including par ts/labor/time ect.. big pain. But i have my D2's installed and just went on a 800 mile trip and they are flawless and ride like stock. Very smooth clean strong ride.
my 2 cents on the Hayames = junk

Obviously there are, but your opinion on this is pretty much worthless, since you've never owned them.
edit: Oh, and it's dragoon, with 2 o's, kthxbye.

There is no camber plate on them and yes I replaced both the tie rod ends because they got ****ed up after we were told we were supposed to turn the tie rod bar 180 degrees and insert it from the bottom rather from the top like normal. So yeah my tie rods are brand new and both were replaced
Part of the pain and additional money i had to put into these things. It was clearly visible that the shaft inside the strut was defective. When the car was off of the ground and the tires were dangling, we could wiggle them left to right and you could see in the center of the strut that it would move in and out.

I would say it's a hit or miss situation. Some people have them and are satisfied with them and have no known problems and others such as myself have gone through one or two sets of the Haymes (me went thru 2) and find them defective maybe not so immediately but within time. There were just a lot of design flaws and being they were made in China and not Japan. Choose wisely is all i can say.

That is fine, but 1) you don't own them and 2) since you don't own them then you shouldn't be pressing the matter so hard. Let people who own them atest to their suckiness.
if you call up spw themselves, you can bargain them to get the v2's at wholeprice ($450). i know because i called them up for spare parts and they offered me to sell a complete brand new set for that price. not sure if it was shipped or not. but best choice is to tell them where ur located and pick them at a local hayame distrubitor shop.
