Question suspension noise!!!

i put in my tein s.techs and when i turn the wheel to the left or the right it makes hella noise. like cracking or something, its hard to describe. is this normal when you put new springs in? and will it go away after a while? the guy who installed said it was beacause they're new springs and they have to be 'worn in'. some one tell me if he's lying!!

my coilovers do the same thing. does it sound like its clanking/plunging/popping?

i believe its metal rubbing against metal. or hard material rubbing against hard material. i hate that sound too.

i dont think the springs have to be "worn in". you can either 1: grease the top and bottom of the spring or 2: buy coil wrap and use it to wrap it around the spring.
note: the 2 solutions i stated above may not be solutions so dont take me for granted

One possibility is if the springs werent indexed(all parts must be lined up in the original configuration) right when installed, then your going to get popping noises, steering wheel can be misaligned, etc. Its critical that they be indexed back together correctly, especially the top perch. The top perch is angled to sit flush inside the strut tower. If its not in its proper position it'll cause all sorts of problems.

Go back to your installer and show him this picture:

You see those red triangles on parts 10/11 and 7? They MUST line up with the red dot on the lower perch. That red dot is actually a hole. So basically all three red indicators must be lined up in a vertical straight line when reassembled. Its not hard to do.

yeah it might be coilbind.. coilbind is when the springs try turning rather than the bearings. If the bearings are badd this will happen or yeah if it isnt indexed right, you'll get that as well
