Angry Clicking Noise Coming From Camber Kit

Just got my 03 coupe EX lowered with H&R Sport (about 1.4" drop). It was recomended to install a camber kit with the springs so that the tires will wear evenly. Since the camber install (and an alignment) my car makes a funny click noise and it sounds like it's coming from the camber kit on bumps and sharp cornering. It makes me feel unsafe. I took it back and they said everything looks fine. I have had cars lowered in the past and never had a camber kit installed (the cars never made any clicking noises). Anyone experienced the same problem or know of a way to fix this issue? Thank you for taking the time to read this and to those of you who might reply.

tightened all the bolts, and took it back to the guys who put it in, and took it back to the guys who did the alignment. Everyone can hear it but they are telling me that whenever you lower a car your gonna hear funny things like that. Well I ran into a guy who has an Audi S4 and he said he had the same problem and that when he removed his camber kit the sound was gone too.

I also have an 03 with H&R Mine do the same. i think its cause the H&R springs fit loose. if you jack up your car can you move youre spring by hand? I can i think thats where the noise is comming from since the springs are shorter than stock. i had taken the camber kit off cause i also thought it was that but it wasnt so i put it back on. another thing it could be is the bearing that sits on top of the spring is going. i still have to replace them and see.

Do the new control arms have a poly bushing or rubber? If its poly, did you grease it? if not, that's probably it.

My H&R's were clicky right out of the install bay. Struts were indexed properly. No camber kit. Just plain annoying.

Thank you for your responses. I would assume that the installers used the proper equipment and lubricated the parts that needed. However you and I know this isn't always true. I will jack the car up tonight and inspect what I can see. I had H&R's on my 98 GS-R and didn't hear a peep (no camber kit). I wonder if this is just a Civic thing? I will get to the bottom of this (literally). Thanks again.

It's coming from the front, and specifically the front right. I checked the bushings and I couldn't really tell if they were rubber or not. I'm now noticing that when I take hard corners my steering wheel doesn't go back to the "straight" position it's turned a little to the direction I took the corner. If I take a sharp turn the other direction it evens the wheel back up. I had the guys who installed the springs tighten everything down, the guys who aligned it re-tightened everything down, and before all of that I torqued everything down. I couldn't possibly imagine it being something loose. This is driving me nuts (no pun intended) because I can't stand knowing this is potentially unsafe and I can't have fun in my car. I'm at the point now where I think I'm going to suck up a couple hundred dollars loss and go all out and buy coil-overs with new struts and control arms as well as a "best" camber kit (if needed). Any more suggestions before I rip those H&R's out and use them for my "monster garage" catapulting bed (or something like that)?

I'm having the same noise out of my front right. Ever since I put my Tokico's on the noise comes and goes. Everything is torqued down to specs and installed properly, yet I have a little noise. I'll probably mess with it this weekend to see if I can fix it.

I had that problem too on my 03 EX. I'm also riding on H+R's. If I can find the thread I'll show you what it is.

Found it. http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...after+lowering This should explain it. Read the post by Flotsamm about the bearing ring. In our cars, there's really nothing to support that. So what happened after they installed the springs is that it just popped out of place. That's the reason why you're hearing the clicking noise and the pops while taking corners or going over bumps. Have you mechanic check that out. I had the same problem and trust me, I was aggrevated as a motha. My mechanic looked three times, and on the third time he found that.
