Thumbs up Want to drop my car.. questions first

I'm planning on getting 17's (Konig Holes).

1) What size tire should i get? What are some good options, and where to buy them.

2) Does the wheel offset matter if i lower it? What should it be so it won't rub

3) I want to buy coilovers that i don't need to get any other parts for. Teins need the 01 uppermount, and the hayames seem fairly defective. There was another coilover mentioned but the thread is missing. What was it, and is reliable?

4) Will i need a rear camber kit? What is a good one, and where can i get it?

I have done lots of searching but i need specific answers if possible. Thanks alot, I really want to do this right the first time.

1. not sure on tire size but im sure others are.

2. Yes, As i recall its 42? maybe someone can confirm

3. Not sure of the third coilover

4. NEED can only be determined by an alignmnet machine. But as a rule of thumb it prolly will need if dropped more then 1"-1.5"

The safest tire choice is a 205/40/17 are far as size goes, though it doesnt give the same comfort or protection as a bigger tire does. Because of this, some people opt for a 225/45/17 or a 215/40/17 tire. However, you can get a more comfortable 205/40/17 tire if you buy one thats H rated like my Kumho 711's.

Most 17" wheels are 40mm or higher. 40mm being the most common I would say. The offset is very important to the amount of lowering and tire size you plan on doing. A 205/40/17 and 40mm wheel are again the most common package you'll see, and probably the safest choice against rubbing. Its when you get into the larger tires and drops in the 2" range that you have to worry about getting a bigger offset like a 42mm or more.

You dont need any camber kits, but a rear is recommended at a minimum to save your tires from camber wear.

Everything he said except I would recommend going with 205/45/17 (match the speed meter) and give you a bit extra tires (a bit more comfortable)

i have a 225/45s to give me more protections and they work fine. A lot of this depends on how far you are going to drop.
Teins you need front upper mount bearings if you have an 02+. There is also B&Gs, D2, hayame and KW V2 in the same price range.
Get a rear camber kit. SPC from danscreations. He sells the full kit. Might as well get the front just to have. It is only $20.

I totally agree, 205/45/17 will be alot more comfortable and match oem specs, also your rims wont be damadged as easy.

Ok, thanks for the info. What are some good tires that match 205/45/17? I have no idea what to get.

Also, i plan on dropping at least 2". Its a sedan if that matters
