What should i lower my car with??
Hey guys i got a 2003 civic LX and i wanna lower it about 1.75 to 2 inches. Im debating about whether to go with springs and shocks seperate or use true coilovers. I dont really care about being able to adjust it, im just lookin to have it lower and i want a good, comfortable ride, i wont b racing it on a track or ne thing, so i dont really need excellent handling either, which would u recommend and which brands?? I also have about $800 to spend on parts, thanks.

Im sure most people will recommend a full coilover setup. I was in this same dilemma not to long ago. The nice thing about a coilover system is its a complete solution and in most cases a simple remove and replace job, with the ability to go back to stock easily. The only downside is that you cant try other parts like springs and struts, at least that I know of. But if your not looking to do that anyway then it shouldnt be an issue.
In the end I chose an aftermarket spring(Eibach Sportlines) with Koni's Sports(only ones available for our cars right now). I wanted something that I could get replacement parts for easily and the option to try other parts out if I decide to. I love this setup, way better then stock ever was.
Regarding comfort, the only spring that I've read of that will give you the drop your asking for and still obtain a comfy ride is Goldlines. Dont take my word for it, but its what I read in most cases. Do a search on it and I'm sure you'll find some answers. Keep in mind that most aftermarket suspensions are stiffer then stock and also that tire/wheel choice play a big role in comfortness.

I have been wanting to drop my 01 sedan, and I don't care how stupid I sound, but I was wondering if I have to replace the shocks in replacing the springs. I'm probably going with the Eibach sportline or pro kit.

About how much did this setup up costing u, and do u think coilovers r worth the price of what they want for a good set??

i would get the JIC FLAT 2 for the EP which will fit on our cars, with a few modifcations. second, i would get the tein flex for the EP. next the Tein SS for the em2, then the hayme's for the em2.
there are a few others out there, it looks like i like the dampers by the price, heh... most costly to cheapest.

There are NO modifications needed for the JIC FLT-A2's for the EP on our car. And they DON'T give a comfy ride.
