Problem w/ Neuspeed upper strut bar...
I tried installing it last night and I ran into a problem. I thought this would be the easiest mod but guess again. Anyways, its like the strut bar doesn't line up w/ the strut mounts properly. I can get the passenger side in, but when I'm working on the driver side, none of the mounts line up evenly. I have to force it on there, I got one mount down but the one above it is a bitch. I feel like i need to bend it in order to fit. But it just doesn't wanna go in the hole..
Tried jacking up the car, no help whatsoever. Searched a little bit, couldn't find anything related. Its pissing me off that I can't even install a simple strut bar.
What am I doing wrong?

I just installed mine last night and had to wrestle with it as well. It still only took ten minutes but I really had to fight to get the final hole lined up on the driver side. How far off is it exactly?
Yeah, it's one of those things where some are easy, some aren't. Mine was easy to get on, but a biotch to get off when i put the turbo in. Just keep messin with it, there's no real secret I can give you that's helpful. get a rubber mallet if you need help pounding it over that last bolt

Get someone else to shake the strut mount around... when you undo those 2 bolts then jack the car up, it twists the tower outwards since the inner bolt is the only thing holding it there. Get someone to push in and up on the strut so the bolts go straight through the tower hole again.
I just loosened the third bolt for the strut mount, and let it move a little so that it would fit in perfect...but don't do what I did before that...I tried to hammer it in...BAD IDEA, while hammering it, I realized that in doing so I could strip the bolt some...so I stopped with no damage, lol.

You know in the instructions how it said to loosen the third nut, jack up the car and move the strut around, right? Well, I had all three nuts off and I stupidly jacked up the car (the hood was closed so I forgot). All of a sudden I'm wondering why both my wheels were faced OUTWARD.
lol, I had a friend help me lower the car back down on the struts... after that, it was pretty easy. Still needed to use some force but wasn't nothin but some extra wasted time.
So much for the alignment I got a week ago.

I had a very funny experience with the install for this bar.

Now THAT's FUNNY!!!!
its supposed to be tight. Its a preload on the front suspension. If you watch the strut towers as you tighten it down evenly on both sides at a time, you can actully see the strut towers move. Thats why it is the best bar out there. for our cars.

is a deep socket wrench required for this install? i know that it's required for the rear shock/strut bar, but how about the front? i might have to go out and buy some deep sockets sometime in the near future (read tomorrow)
You sure? Because a normal socket won't go completely over the nut with the bar off (but just enough for you to loosen/tighten it). I think you are gonna need a deep socket to better reach the nut when the bar is on.
The solution is really in the instructions for it. Just jack the car off the ground and take two of the nuts off from the strut tower. You'll be able to move the strut around. I'm glad how tight the bar goes over the strut tower bolts. Feel very secure. Sometimes I wonder how I'd be able to get the bar off the car. I doubt it could just be pulled up without messing with the struts again.

Don't jack it up unless you really can't get it on using a hammer with cloth over it. If you get most of it on, you can slowly tap on the rest of it and it will fall into place. Believe me, I struggled for an hour until trying that. No way am I jacking up the car for this kind of mod.
wow...
hmmmm...
so, basically the story is that you can easily fit one side to it's place....tighen it up....but then, the other side's was not designed properly that it's "bent" and you need to knock it to it's place?
that's how it is in my imagination...
anyway, where is the best place to buy this strut bar?
hmhmhm..

I just put mine on today. It didn't line up so I had a friend push while I pulled up on the center of the bar and it just landed into place like it should. It took maybe 20 minutes, but that was due to me using that crappy scissor jack honda supplies with the car lol.
Question:
I know how to move the clutch reservoir down on my stick shift to get the strut bar on, but I have a problem with my alarm speaker. It's screwed into the plastic molding / back of hood area / firewall. I dont have the cordage to relocate the siren, and it has plastic screws anyways.
I am thinking of getting some O-rings / clamp type things with rubber grommets and mounting the siren to the bottom "prong" of the strut bar, where it splits into 2 but without getting close to the mounting nuts. Theres plenty of space below there (Drivers side) and I don't think the torsion / flex on the strut bar will be affected by a 1/2 lb. siren module.
Is this a decent idea? anyone have a better way without messing with the wiring?
