Question Aggressive Stance, but not slammed...

I plan on gettin 18' somethings(rims)...but I am not sure what springs to get...I dont want the slammed look but little to no tire gap.
I was thinking about getting Sprint Lowering Springs...giving me about a 2" drop. I just wanted to know what other people thought of them such as handling & ride comfort. Also, if yall have heard anything pos. or negative about them.
If you think I can achieve my LITTLE to no tire gap with GoldLines giving me a 1.75 drop...comment on that, and what the handling and ride would be like. Thanx

im not sure about the goldlines but i have nuespeed race springs with 17s and it gives my ride a very agressive stance, but i have heard with 18s the biggest tire size with neuspeed race is 215-35-18, in order not to rub. that should give you no tire gap or very close to no tire gap.

Handling will great improve will a 1.5-2.0" drop. Ride comfort will lessen if you stiffen/lower the car and it depends on the spring rate of the springs. Also, your shocks will blow if you lower just on springs and that will greatly affect your ride comfort. Sprints are ok. People seem to like goldlines. Neuspeeds are always a good choice. H&R are good too.

Just roll your fenders with a baseball bat if you rub. That's what I did. I'm running 215/50/16 tires with a 2-finger gap on each corner, btw. It's not really a low drop, but the wide tires used to rub on sharp turns.

with 18's, your comfort is gone...and if u want an agressive stance, you'll even have less comfort. Them preludes come with 16's and they're stiff as hell, partly because of their suspension, but as you widen the diameter of the rim, you'll have to decrease the width of the tire and will make your ride more stiff. Of course this can be countered with soft springs and better struts, but with 18's its hard to do. My friend had 18's on his 7th gen and dropped his car 2 inches but his overall height rose 1 inch. I could help laughing at that. He's got some full coilover kit now and it looks sweet. But the ride sux...
Good luck with yours, I'd suggest you to get very good quality springs and struts, you don't want your strust blowing on you every 3-6 months.

I have 18s with Goldlines and the ride is very comfortable. Until the struts blow that is. If you have 215-35s than ride will be harsh, but my 215-40s are suprisingly comfortable.

I have the sprint springs... They suck with stock shocks. The ride is harsh and you tend to bottom out. Also the back end is too low and looks like it is sagging. As far as handeling goes....here is the problem with lowering springs and stock shocks....yes on a smooth surface you will get better cornering. Unfortunatly most of us drive on roads that are sub par. Take a corner going faster than you should...and hit a bump....if it's large enough the shock compreses fully then cant compress anymore...so guess what happens? your car hops over the bump... (with heavy 18's this will be even worse) let me tell you that your *** end hopping while doing 90 around a corner is not good for your heart. Dont make the mistake I made....if your looking for handeling than go for a full suspension replacment. I will be replacing mine with Tein Flex's in about 3 months (cause they aren't cheap) untill then I'm going back to stock springs.

well.....if you buy shocks your pretty limited. You can buy the Koni yellows. But they are the same length as your stock shocks. So your still getting a compromised ride. Some people don't seem to mind it. SO I guess it's really up to you. My advice is to go with a full setup. If you dont want to spend the cash on Tein Flex..then Tein does make the Basic ...or I have heard good things about the H&R cup kits. Also a search on the most common coilovers would get you some good owner reviews from this site. Ground controls were pretty popular there for a while. As far as camber kits go..a camber kit is a camber kit...it;s just an extension that allows your wheel to be aligned. Unless you plan on raising and lowering your can all the time you dont need the majorly adjustable ones. Good luck.and please dont cheap out on your suspension...trust me..you'll be sorry.
