Differncce between tuner lugs and regular lugs?

Hey guys, I just purchased a set of rims that I will be putting on my car on friday and was wondering if I could use my factory lug nuts? I know some people have tuner lug nuts which are much longer. I have velox vx8's, I've heard it's tougher for a thief to take the tuner lugs off, is it true. I also have to get a set of lock nuts, thanks

You can't use the stock ball ended lug nuts.. they won't seat properly on the wheel. Tuner lugs typically have an internal hex pattern rather than an external one (looks like an allen bolt rather than a Hex nut) so they slip into the tiny hole the manufacturer left in the wheel to get a lug nut through. I don't know if tuner lugs are harder to get off, they'll come off like any other nut, as long as you have a set of decient locks you should be covered... a determined thief will get them if they want, but its enough to deter the idiots.

Get TWO sets of locking lugs for extra security.

Tuner lugs are for small diameter holes in wheels. They have a "key" but its the same as every other "key" that a tire shop gives out for tuner lugs. If you really don't want to get jacked take slammedblueem2's advice and get two different sets of WHEEL LOCKS not tuner bolts.
