wheel alignment
wheel alignment
I plan on putting on 15" x 6.5" wheels and 205/60-15 tires and was wondering how badly this will mess up the alignment, if at all? From what I understand, once you lower the car is when things start going out of alignment and that you dont necessarily need a camber kit if you find a shop that is willing to align a lowered car. Do our cars have the flexibility to adjust to being lowered or is the camber kit necessary?Has anyone figured out the alignment specs for a lowered 7gen Civic?
thanks.
thanks.

Just putting on different tires and wheels wont affect the alignment. However, lowering your car can, depending on the amount of drop. Some peeps say that if you only drop it a little like an inch that you wont need a camber kit or alingment done. Best to follow what the spring manufacture recommends about lowering. Also our cars dont come with any allowable camber adjustments. You must buy and install some sort of camber kit.

Get an alignment after you are completely done with modifying your suspension.
The front will align correctly by itself. For the rear, you should get a camber kit.
And don't alignment specs vary from cars? It should depend on how low that car is, correct? Not every car is at the same height especially after being modified.
After I put my rims on I needed an alignment. But my car had never had an alignment so that could be why Alignment checks are usually free, so to be on the safe side I'd get it checked. If your alignment is out you'll get uneven treadwear on those new tires you're buying.
