Ground to body distance
Ground to body distance
I have 15 in rim in my car with 195/50/15 tires and I just had body kit installed. It seems like it is very close to ground I think distance from ground it 3-4 inches. I was thinking about installing new 17 inc wheels with 215/45/17 tires. Will that help bring car body little up, may be 2 more inch. I am afraid of breaking body kit it is made of firber glass. The most problem I am getting it is from back bumper, I have hited couple of time today and just got my car from shop today.

I don't think it will make any difference in height if you get 17's. The gap from the ground to the floor will be the same. The only difference is your wheel well gap may be smaller and may result in the tire and wheel well to rub, that's if your car is lowered.
Hmmmmm...
*The Rim size goes up 2 inches.
*The sidewall basically stays the same at ~3.8".
*The diameter & circumference of the 17" tire is larger (~2" & ~6" respectively) than the 15" size you are currently running. So I'm gonna say YES, it would raise your car up 2 inches...er...
Would it raise it 2 inches or 4 inches? I can't remember whether I have to double it or not...
Where's Boilermaker & 666 and the tire people when you need them

You need to first determine what tire size you plan on running with the 17" wheels. Then based on that, use the tire calculator to see if it will give a higher ride compared to what you have now. Usually when peeps go with a bigger wheel, they get smaller profile tires for looks, performance and to keep the diameter close to stock. This is whats called "plus sizing."
I am getting 215/45/17. When I bought the old wheels and tires I did not know anything about them, it was later when I found out. I had accident couple few months ago and my front
right tire hit the sidepath and I brock arm. I have every is back to normal but still need to have frame work done on. Hopefully after I get 17" I'll be ok.
