AEM rear drum-disc conversion

So, last i heard, AEM had a prototype car out and running with all kinds of AEM upgrades on it including the rear drum to disc conversion. Has anyone heard if that drum to disc conversion is comming out any time soon? Or if its comming out at all? This is for sure something that i am interested in, please let me know any info that you may have.
cheers

I noticed on AEM's web site they do have a rear disc conversion setup out now, but there's no mention about the part # and price. I wouldn't mind having a set, that's for sure.

im willing to bet a 01+ rear kit will come out.... did you know the fronts are the same as the 99-00 si/ex!? so im sure the rears on the ABS EX 99/00 cant be that far off from our rears..

Yeah just look at the part numbers on AEM's web site. The fronts are the same, so who knows about the rears.

i have some what of a noob question.
If i were to upgrade to the rear disc conversion, they put the OE disc in the back and a new bigger disc in the front correct? so can i upgrade the rear OE disks to bigger ones as well? And once i do the upgrade, can i use any company to upgrade the rear and front discs with?

I think that would be great, but if the past is any reminder they will be expensive. Not to knock on anyone, but I have better things to spend my hard earned money on that something to help improve stopping distances for a car that takes forever to get going in the first place... It'd look cool though.

well from what i have seen done on cars that are previously older, what you have to do is switch out the brake calipar and trailing arm. This whole thing bolts up and you also need the brake lines and e-brake lines also. I dunno about the 99-00 si because if you look at our rear arms dont get me wrong but i think they are pretty different. hth

Do they have a rear kit for our application? Do you have a part number?

that was a good idea about using the brakes from the previous civic, but isnt the suspension being different a problem?

I'm just against AEM right now. Why are they making all their rotors black now? Is there a purpose to it. If that black color totally stops rust, then maybe I guess that's one good thing, but you lose so much of the looks factor. I'd prefer Wilwood because their kit is still cheaper and looks better regarding to the rotors.
