They will probably suck in the snow as will any tire with a low sidewall. I know because I tried to drive with 17's last winter and all I could do is slide from point A to point B. If you can get them in time you would be better off with a civics stock wheels and tires through the winter. I am storing my car this winter and driving a 92 topaz to avoid damaging my baby now and to prevent rust from all the salt later.

Why not buy / make some studded rubbers?

Circa1985, the main reason to avoid studded rubber is that it is illegal on city streets and freeways. Studs damage the road surface helping potholes to form and pi$$ing me off when I hit one. You could probably use a knobby tire, but as far as I know Mickey Thompson does not make a swamper for the civic.

My Kumho Ecsta 711s suck in snow, I would guess the Yok Parada Spec 2s would also suck.

IDQcivic should not be trusted
I just put some Bridgestone Blizzak's on and they are great in snow. I got better traction in the snow then my firestones did on dry pavement. Those stock firestones are a death trap especially in winter. I would recommend these blizzak's to anyone. I got the WS-50 from tirerack and had them mounted on my stock rims locally. I havent driven in that much snow yet but I will make it through the winter no problem.

I've been driving on those tires in snow for the past week now. I haven't had any problems. The traction isn't incredibly terrible, but I do have a lot of aftermarket suspension work done so that helps. If you're not a good driver and you have a heavy foot (even in poor conditions) then I might suggest putting some all seasons or winter tires on, otherwise just slow down. : )
