2000 Si wheels... tires, weights, and pricing.

After shopping around for months looking at aftermarket 17's, something keeps bringing me back to the 15" 00 Si wheels. Does anyone know how much these wheels weigh? So far the best price I've found is $120 a piece from HandAaccessories.com. With these wheels I'd plan on running 195/60/15 or 195/55/15 Bridgestone Potenzas. Should I reconsider my size choice? thanks

Not sure how much they weigh, but you should try searching other websight forums for a better price. People are always selling SI's. Try clubsi.com or honda-tech.com.

According to Road & Track, the 15" OEM steelie weighs in at a heavy 21.6 lbs.
Si's are going to be about the same weight at 20 lbs, as stated in the shipping weight of h&a.com
Refer to the tire calculator up top to measure the speed differences in a lower profile tire.
Try to get at 2% or under because if you're 4% faster, you're going to eat up your miles on the odometer.
For example: If you drive 50k miles with a tire size that's 4% faster, that's approximately 2000 extra miles you'll post on the odometer JUST for having a smaller profile tire.
The best thing to do is get some lightweight 16"s like the Kosei's, Rota's, Enkei's, or if you got more $$$, just go Volk or Spoon.
If you want to run a 55 series tire, do so on a 16, so you won't potentially lose miles for nothing on the odometer.

most guys on si rims ride 205/50/15's.

i chose bridgestone potenza re730's, great tire for street/light track, good in rain.

I don't think the si rims weigh as much as the stock steel wheels. I have picked one up in the dealership and it felt like it weighed around 15lbs or so. Most people think the stock wheels weigh 24lbs but I got right at 21lbs when I weighed them. Of course, I have rota subs that weigh in at a paltry 30lbs with the tire. The stock SI rims are def. a few pound lighter than factory steel wheels. I know because I just had my 99-00 SI rims put on my civic today. I bought my rims at HandAaccesories.com. I highly recommend them. I paid a little over $500 shipped to my house, not a bad price for brand new wheels. Even if you find used rims on Ebay or in for sale forums, they usually have a few nicks and curb rash. It is hard trying to find used rims in perfect condition.

Yeah, I was actually looking at HandA, they've got their "sale" going on them once again. Hmmm... decisions, decisions.

The last i heard, the 00 Si rims only weigh about 15 lbs. My friend has them on his car with 50 profile tires. And aslo, they are a lot lighter than the OEM steel wheels
