ok, this is a really newb question.. but like wat does each number on the tire size stand for?

ok lets say the rim your getting is 205/40/17
so 205 (I BELIEVE) is the width of the tire...
40 is the profile which means how much rubber is basically protecting the rim
and 17 is obviously the size of your wheel
like the circumfrance...
Thats all, pretty simple!

205 is the tire width in millimeters, 40 is the percent of that width that makes up the side wall (in this case, 40 percent of 205) and 17 is the size of the wheel that the tire will fit on.
