Another thread on rear discs
Ok, i know that there has been a little talk about rear disc conversions. I did a search, and i didnt really get the answer that i was looking for. My thoughts on this is...the new Si hatch has rear discs on it. Since it is of the same generation, im not sure aobut exact measurments, but shouldnt the rear discs from that car fit just right onto ours? I believe thats how AEM did their EX rear disc conversions for the 2000 and under civics.
Just a thought...fill me in guys, cause i dont like the look of my rear rims with the drums back there. Its unacceptable!!!!

Rep Power: 0 i was getting too ahead of myself, i forgot about the 5 lug hub. Ok, well...does anyone know if AEM is planning a rear disc conversion kit for our cars anytime soon?

Rep Power: 375 I asked the same question about a month ago and I got no answer. When I asked Honda on the matter all they could tell me was that I have a 50% chance of it working. Which wasn't good enough for me to waste money if it doesn't work.

Lol. Honda wouldn't tell you if it would work or not because that would mean improving upon their design...It is doable, but the cost is what is not known. Being the first wont be cheap.

Rep Power: 0 I went and looked at a SiR last night, by comparison the rear discs use the same LCA as ours, so we just need brakes, ebrake cable, lines, master cylinder, abs sensors, and lots of money.

Rep Power: 0 I would think that focussing on the Canadian version of the car would be a better option the trying to use the SI rears... I am trying to get some info. on it as well as others on the site - hopefully we can get it together in not too long. It should be a fairly easy thing to do - pending the ABS components.
1jazzyciv - I agree. I think using the rear discs from the Canadian Acura 1.7 EL would be easier/cheaper than something from the new Si/SiR. Plus there's always the option of new pads and rotors.
