Wheels are too fat

Recently bought new wheels and tires from Fitment Industries for my 2002 Honda Civic ex sedan, I got 16s so they would fit without any modifications but the tires I got were a lot thicker and taller than I thought and they rub a lot, there brand new but now there cut up and I can’t return them, I also can’t afford to buy new tires, what should I do???

Re: Wheels are too fat

Wait until you can afford tires that fit.

How badly are they cut up? You may be able to sell them but it obviously depends on if they’re still usable. You could get used tires; I’d personally wait, though.

Re: Wheels are too fat

what size tires you get, what offset, and what suspension setup you got?

I was lowered 2.5-3" (ish) on my 2002 ex coupe and was able to fit 215/45-17s on 17x7 et42 with zero rubbing issues

ideally, you should be running 195/55-16s and the offset on your rims should be within et35-et45

edit: that tire profile will be absolute closest to stock (about 1cm wider) and keep your speedometer pretty much spot on as if you were running OEM tires. Makes me think you got a super high low offset or some huge tire profile

edit2: got my offset directions mixed up. lower offset would put the hub closer to the inner race of the rim, making the wheel stick out farther

Re: Wheels are too fat

They have cut out lines from the fenders and also my the bottom of front springs rest on top of the tire so they’re wear from that too

I have stock suspension and it’s running 16x17 with a 35 offset, I think the rims are good but the tires are the wrong size, should I try to get wheel adapters and go for a wide look or willl it still rub

Re: Wheels are too fat

Damn. Those are some fatty *** tires man.

edit: I'm not sure rolling the fenders will give you enough clearance. Maybe enough for straight line, level road driving, but hit a bump and you might be rubbing some more

If the cuts aren't bad someone will probably give you some money for them.

Discount isn't going to do anything for you since the damage was caused by your own ignorance
