Rep Power: 0 Is there an optimal tire/wheel size and offset?
I am in dire need of new tires. But I was seeing if I should change my wheel/tire size & width and change my offset while I'm shopping for new tires (I would get new wheels too then.) Asking to see if there are any benefits to these changes or if there happens to be a general consensus on optimal dimensions in terms of fuel economy, ride comfort, etc.
Right now I have a 2003 Honda Civic LX and it has P185/70R14 tires.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

For economy you may want to check out some LRR (low rolling resistance) tires...but also look at expected treadwear life and take that into consideration.
For ride comfort you'd want stock size.
If you go with large diameter wheels with rubber band tires you will feel every little pebble and imperfection in the road, that isn't comfortable to me. (my Civic is on 18" wheels, I feel everydamnthing in the road)
