Brake noises and shakes new parts installed
Brake noises and shakes new parts installed
So last night I finished installing new pads, and rotors. Other things that have been replaced are all lower ball joints, and driver side wheel bearing. With this said I am experiencing a strange sound when stopping. It's not a grinding sound, or squeaking sound. More like a Zzzz Zzzz, and then repeats as the wheel slowly turns to a stop. Strange right??
Also I do experience shuttering into the steering wheel and foot pedal. I firstly thought this was bad rotors but thinking it's something else. Any ideas??
Shuttering could be from bad control arm bushings?
The Zzzz Zzzz sound could be from bad calipers??
Any ideas would be helpful.

When you replaced the brake pads were they worn evenly? I had a stuck caliper that was wearing 1 pad down 8x or so quicker than the other pads. It basically wore through right to the steel of the pad and the others were over 3/4. It was making quite a bit of noise while doing this which I assumed was the wheel bearing. Boy was I wrong. I ended up replacing both from calipers with rebuilds from ebay (LOL). They came re manufactured and I took them apart to confirm quality. I got very lucky as I got them for 50 bucks shipped. Just throwing an idea out there.

Did you grease the slide pins? One of them might be hanging up.
What kind of pads did you go with? Cheaper pads can make noise when stopping.

so the piston is easily compressible. the bolts are all torqued down to spec. the pins just got removed and re-greased, i'm using the best pads VatoZone sells. I do notice a small tear in the piston dust boot. But don't see how this would effect the strange noise.
Re: Brake noises and shakes new parts installed
It can be multiple things , try jacking up the front of the car and have someone accelerate and brake while you sitting next to the wheel to hear where the noise is coming from, then try to turn the wheel by hand and stop it and see if the noise happen again
Re: Brake noises and shakes new parts installed
My piston retracted with ease.. However, it was failing to retract after being engaged.... How was your pad wear on your last set of pads?
If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Crap caught between the hub face and rotor?
Do they sit perfectly flat against the hubs, or do they rock?
If you have a lot of shake when braking (like warped rotors), the noise could be caused by the caliper being pushed side to side.
You got rotors from ChinaZone, they should be warped right out of the white cardboard box.

in-proper bedding of new pads and rotors could also cause the problems your discribing especially on cheap rotors did you bed the new pads ???
