I do want to try a beefier tire and I was debating on trying 225/45/17. I suppose I can just play it by ear and if they end up rubbing I'll either have to pull the fenders, change the tire size or raise the coils up.

Just got quoted $$$ for some Work Cr Ultimates! I don't think I can commit to that price right now. I'll have to check the marketplace for a used set of jdm wheels or pick up some replicas to use for DD.

Re: Is it necessary to roll front fenders?

$1700 shipped w/ valve stems and caps. I think it was a fair price but I still would need tires, spacers and extended lugs. I haven't even gotten my 5-lug installed cuz I'm trying to figure out the rim situation.

I can get rsx base wheels locally for $150 for the pair... Debating on going that route for the meantime.

How is the search for rims going?

I previously had purchased a 5-Lug conversion but the deal fell through. I just recently purchased another conversion and hopefully it'll ship soon. I'm just now looking for rims once again and wanted to see how much you've progressed on your search. LMK

Re: Is it necessary to roll front fenders?

UPDATE:
purchased rims 17x8 +35 but still haven't decided on the tire size. I originally was going for 205/40 to go really low and flush but after some debating I want to a little more protection since it is my DD and we do get potholes out here. I was thinking about 215/45 which may throw the odometer off a bit but should allow me to tuck some tire with the proper rolling (rear) and camber settings.

I'm open to suggestions if any of you have them... TIA

I run 17x7.5 +45
I have 215/45 on them, and they ride really comfy, not too harsh.
It still gives a low profile look.
Speedo is not off either.

I think with +35 offset, you'll have a perfect fit.

Re: Is it necessary to roll front fenders?

I'm using Falken 512's
I could recommend them, but they're a bit noisy on certain surfaces, and I'm not sure how bad tire wear is going to be yet.

But they do ride good, grip good, and great in rain.

Re: Is it necessary to roll front fenders?

Ok. I have heard of those and I am looking for a tire which can handle both wet and dry roads. I have a friend that says that Hankook Ventus tires are pretty popular. Not trying to spend over $130 each tire.

found a set of rims a couple months ago. Just got them back from powder coating and getting the lips refinished. I'll have pics up in a couple weeks once the salt is off the roads here

I have falken 912 on now.. so far the best wet and dry performing tires I have had on my car. downside tho is I'm already down to 50% tread life in the front after a few months but that could because my front suspension is shot lol. Just purchased Hankook ventus v2 tires for the new rims so I am curious to see how these compare to the falkens.

Re: Is it necessary to roll front fenders?

I just had my fenders rolled yesterday... I was too chicken to do the job myself because I had never done it and I wasn't sure what to expect. The guy who did it only rolled the top portion in the rear and he told me that he preferred to do it that way to help retain the integrity of the rear panels. I'll have to attempt to post a pic of how it turned out.
