Arrow Wheels and tires on my car, help!

Hi team, looking forward to upgrade my car's tires and wheels.

Here are my concerns

- Roads on my country are totally crap... That is why i do not want to spend lots of money on my tires..
- I saw people here using 17 wheels and really tiny tires, but they do not use their cars to go places where i go, with some gravel..
- I use my car 5 days a week to go work like 60 km trip, from home to work.
- Sat and SUn, to go surfing beach..!! (here is when off road hits my car)
- I would like to use Black Rims in 16''. but my car is black and it is Sedan.
- Do you guys think all black look bored.? ? (look photo) i dont want the car to look boring all black.. what you guys think is better Silver or Black rims.?? remember my car is black ...

Well basically I would like to find a good tire spec that goes fine with 16" What u guys think.??

Sorry my english is just basic. hope u guys understand i'm from Costa Rica.. Pura Vida!!

Get the black wheels. Although I'm not sure you should get aftermarket wheels if you're gonna be consistently driving on gravel. The commute to work shouldn't be an issue at all if it's on pavement. Then again it's totally up to you!

205x50r16 if you want 16's. I don't think I would go any bigger if I were driving on gravel.

I say go wit the dark on dark. You might even consider a black and machined rim? I'm gonna do that to my civic shortly I found a great website to shop from...

www.whippetwheels.com

heres an example of a black and machined rim so you can get an idea of what im talking about.

or gunmetal?

Re: Wheels and tires on my car, help!

I know! Especially with all that free stuff. I didn't know you could mount a tire without touching it...and the info i read about their nitrogen fills makes me wanna go get my tires inflated with nitrogen now. I know where I'm spending my tax refund haha

Re: Wheels and tires on my car, help!

like lollygag said, you should get rims no bigger than 16."

16 will give you car a more dramatic handling without sacrificing ride-ability.

aim for 16x7 and get tire 205/50/16r

Re: Wheels and tires on my car, help!

You could also use 205/55R16 - they are easier to find, more models, cheaper and will handle the off-road better. speedometer will show slight lower speeds, though.
BTW, black on black is not bad - the problem is when you park at night others will not see your car when backing...
here is mine on stockies

Here is a good link to make sure you dont over/under do your wheel-tire combination:http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculator.asp
An BTW, gold rims on black might be an accent to explore...

Re: Wheels and tires on my car, help!

205/55/16 is going to make ur wheels bigger than stock and throw ur speedo off. plus it REALLY looks like u have donuts.

you can find plenty of tires in 205/50/16

Re: Wheels and tires on my car, help!

not in costa rica
I am also originally brazilian, and over there, anything less than 65 series would bulge in 6 months due to the road conditions, so there were very few lower series tires sold there. The ones that did did sell a lot of them, since they would be done in 6 months time - not sure about the roads in CR, though, but our production facility down in Cr does not produce any low aspect tires either for local market.

The 55 have slightly taller sidewalls, so for same 16" they will be slightly larger in diameter - will be larger than the stock tires too, so each time the tire turns once, you will move longer.
But your speedo is calibrated to the stock tire, so it will show you 68 MPH when you actually is at 70 MPH. The hodometer will also mark less than what you actually ran. ( but the engine will run lower RPM as well, trans also, so they end up even, i guess).
No they don't damage, but it will indicate wrong numbers (try explainingthat to the officer that pulled you for speed )

Good to know you could find the 50's tires - they are not as easy to find, i would think
