Question: How Do I Replace the rear breaks?

Hi there everyone,

I have a '98 honda civic ex and I was just wondering on how do I replace the rear breaks? Like what kind of tool do I need to get?

And also I would like to know is my E-break feels kinda loose what I was wondering is how do I go about to tighten up the cable?

If anyone could please assist me with these issues that would be great..!!

Thanks!!

Not to mention this is the 7th gen forum, not the 6th gen forum.

Yea, but drum brakes are drum brakes.

here's a DIY guide to drum brakes (on a 7thgen, but it should still work for you)

Heh!
"Break" them!
And don't forget to "Break" them in afterwards!
If you unsure, "Brake" for a moment and think again!
Then take a "break"!

Re: Question: How Do I Replace the rear breaks?

Get a haynes manual or chiltons or something. They are good for simple jobs like that. Or you can use the DIY thread as well. Do one side at a time so that you can use the other side as a reference to where all the springs go.

A mistiping i can take, but when it's used so many times i couldn't resist! It was so funny!

Chad, like said above, search the forum or just go to any autoparts store and get a Haynes service manual - they are not expensive and you can do much more stuff yourself and best of all, without exposing yourself to your silly questions.
"Brake or Break!" Sorry, couldn't help myself again!
