issue(?) after tyre change
issue(?) after tyre change
hello everyone
i think ive come across an issue after i changed tyres on my 03 Vti civic 2 weeks back.
i had Bridgestone Sports Tourer MY01 195/65/15 used tyres installed...the previous Dunlop SP Sport set(the same specs 195/65/15) )had worn out completely.
after the tyre change,the car seems to run a lot heavier i.e the car seems to labour along a lot now...also takes longer to get going again after a stop(like the feeling u get with larger rims).all in all the car feels like dragging rather than running smoothly.
the tyres are in very good shape manufactured in August 2008....treadwear=300,traction=B,temp.=A
Tread=2 Polyester,2 Steel,1 Nylon.
I think the important thing here is that the new tyres are ''V'' speed rated while the previous ones were ''H''.i read somewhere that V rated tyres are heavier than the lower speed rated ones though i cant find a credible source for that.
i cant fanthom the logic behind this as the new tyres are the exact same size as the dunlops i used b4.maybe its the extra weight of the tyres thats the reason behind this?...plus shouldnt a heavier tyre also mean increased fuel consumption?
