6 shims on OEM brake pads?
6 shims on OEM brake pads?
I just bought new OEM brake pads for my Civic 2001. It includes 3 different shapes. 2 shims per shape. What is the correct order to install these 3 different shims?
Correct me if i am wrong:
1. bottom shim (see photo) is for brake pad with NO metal wear indicator
2. Top 2 shims (see photo) is for brake pad with metal wear indicator. If both 2 top shims are required, which shim is next to the back side of the brake pads?
If only 1 shim is required for each piece of brake pad, is brake grease required on BOTH shim's surfaces (surfaces that touch brake pad and piston) ?
Thanks
