Suggestion for 19" Chrome Rims
Suggestion for 19" Chrome Rims
Hey Guys,
I've decided that I want to get 19" chrome rims for my black 2005 civic (with aero kit)....do you guys have any suggestions on which rims to buy and possibly of have pics of them on the car as well?
Thanks!

Yeah, like somebody already said, please don't go with the chrome on black. I have an 03' NHPB Civic with 5Zigen 5ZRs which look really nice. I love them. They're a "Hyper Silver" with a chrome lip..you might like that?
Re: Suggestion for 19" Chrome Rims
I was expecting you guys telling me not to go with chrome lol...I like it though, but only if I get the perfect rims, I'm not gonna buy anything until im sure they'll look good...If I was able to get the Kaizer Spade II rims in 4 bolt, i would have gotten those, but I couldn't find them in 4 bolt:| How bad would 19's really be for the car or drive?
Re: Suggestion for 19" Chrome Rims
19s are really too big for the civic
IMO go 17 (style/comfort) or 18 (style)
I sent you a PM that im selling my volks... Cant go wrong with volks!

Re: Suggestion for 19" Chrome Rims
a 19 that weighs less than a 14?! im not in the wheels business, but i think youre pushin that just a little...more like a lot. I have some 14" Racing Sparco mesh wheels (possibly for sale in the near future, wink wink nudge nudge) that weigh like 19 or 20 with tires.
Even if such a wheel does exist, it is DEFINATELY not going to be chrome

I have 18'' chrome and really like them, if I could get the same rims in 19'' i would but they go from 18 --> 20's (still thinking about the 20's but thinking they're a little too big) ... I say if you like it do whatever you like, black is the only color chrome looks good one imo.
No one can tell you how to spend your money unless you allow your parents or a bossy wife to tell you what to do. Don't let a bunch of critics keep you from buying what you like. I still get 40mpg despite the heaviness of chrome and would just recommend that you upgrade your brakes to brembo blanks or slotted.
I'm not saying I like these cause I'm not sure how they'd look on the car...but they're worth watching maybe... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Set-o...QQcmdZViewItem
These motegi's are nice though: http://www.motegiracing.com/wheels/d...lloy§ion=#

I can't think of the member name, but there was a guy on here with an 01 sedan that was white that he changed wheels all the time. Old school member. He had 19's and it looked sick. I think he was also sponsored.
Yes, it's an Acura EL

Re: Suggestion for 19" Chrome Rims
^^You're thinking of Rijowysock. BIG, Synapse, and myself also had 19's on our cars, among others. you can get 215/35/19's and yes it does ride rougher, yes it takes a little more gas to get going, and yes stopping is definitely harder on the brakes when you have bigger rims. Don't forget too that just because your 19" rim weighs as much as stock (with tires mounted on both) that doesn't mean you'll get off the line just as fast. Rotational inertia owned me, LOL. Once you're up to speed though it's not bad at all.
All that said, if Rota made SubZeros in 19x8 I'd be wearing them right now. Gawd I miss my 19's.

Where can I go to find 4 bolt rims?? seems like whatever I find is all 5 bolt:| Also, how much would it cost to upgrade the brakes? nothing too crazy though..

Re: Suggestion for 19" Chrome Rims
if you're talking same size replacements you should be able to get rotors and pads for less than $200. Depends what brands you buy though. I saw that Baer made some rotors for like $174 that were slotted and drilled. Those are the most expensive I've seen. Brembo makes slotted, drilled or blanks. But from what I've read only the slotted are worth putting on if you're not racing or anything.
A big brake kit is considerably more, then I'm pretty sure you have to keep at least 17'' wheels on at all times.
The rims I have are Zora, they have 2 separate 4 lug patterns. 4x100 and i'm not sure what the other one is.
These are what I have in 18'' & thinking about 20'':

Re: Suggestion for 19" Chrome Rims

Along with the others that he stated, XTREME2K2CIVIC and blackbullet has pulled of the larger rims (19",20") off nicely IMO.
Also IMO chrome wouldn't be my choice but I guess I am all for the larger rims. If I had no choice but to do chrome I would find something thin and not too many spokes.
Re: Suggestion for 19" Chrome Rims
that sedan looks sick...theres someone else who owns a red em2 and at one point he had 19s (not chrome) and his looked soooooooo nice. but at the same time...u have to be very weary of the style of rim..look at that sedan above me...the style just looked nice in 19s. some 19s make me wana vomit a buncha times....so just be careful if u do do it...and by the way. chrome is gross.
Re: Suggestion for 19" Chrome Rims
IMO, the 19" chrome wheels or any 19" wheels or chrome wheels on a civic are gay
.
. ive got a set of 15" k1's in silver. they're 13lbs. i love them. much better performing than the stock steelies and look a million times better than those stupid *** oversized 19" chrome wheels that wheigh a ton. civic are already extremely slow anyways. why would you want to slow yours down anymore? stupid. you should get the smallest lightest wheels you can fit around your brakes and just lower your car. i think anything over 16" is too big.

Re: Suggestion for 19" Chrome Rims
Just looking at the original post & title...he did ask for suggestions. Not why any of you think chrome is "gay" or how heavy and stupid you think they are.
Like I said before, get what makes you happy and don't be bothered by critics since there's always going to be people who do not like them, whether they dislike 19'' or chrome in general. Then there's those people who only like 15'' wheels (which I ride on 6 or more months out of the year thanks to NY weather).

Re: Suggestion for 19" Chrome Rims
I've been looking for a nice twin 5 spoke, or even plain 5 with a nice deep dish. If I come across anything new i'll post it up.
I'd keep your civic, also get a cadillac and put some nice chrome on that too. Then park them side by side in your driveway and take a picture for everyone

Re: Suggestion for 19" Chrome Rims
PM me if you want some pics and I can email you pics. I have Konig Prophets in 19" chrome with 215/35 BFG's. Also have rear disc conversion but tire and rim weight is comparable to stock. Tires should actually be 225 or 235 but they finally beaded up after about a month!

Re: Suggestion for 19" Chrome Rims
bc chrome wheels actually look decent on a caddy and look like **** on a civic.
on a side note: you asked for peoples opinions, and thats what your getting. If you didn't want to hear negative comments, why make a thread about chrome wheels?
