Suggestion for 19" Chrome Rims
Re: Suggestion for 19" Chrome Rims
I saw Twism2's pictures, his car looks Nice, I would add an Aero/OEM lip kit so it would Look lower. That's the Look that I like, Not "JDM" and not "rice"
Get those 19's, lower it a little to cover-up the wheel gap, & add a lip kit.

Re: Suggestion for 19" Chrome Rims
Like I said, I asked for suggestions for rims...not whether I should get them or not...or who should..
Re: Suggestion for 19" Chrome Rims
I do have the whole Aero/OEM lip kit around the whole car...and it does look pretty low already...my sub box in the back makes it a bit lower in the back than the front, which i might be able to adjust...I also have a skunk2 megapower exhaust, and at certain places it even scrapes on the ground with the stock height...thats why i don't really want to lower and hopefully the 19s will make it look sweet without having to lower it
Re: Suggestion for 19" Chrome Rims
I've been looking for a nice twin 5 spoke, or even plain 5 with a nice deep dish. If I come across anything new i'll post it up.
I'd keep your civic, also get a cadillac and put some nice chrome on that too. Then park them side by side in your driveway and take a picture for everyone

Well some just don't realize that chrome looks hot if it's tastefully done.
Imo, you either like chrome or you don't. If you don't, this isn't the thread for you.
Beats putting APC banners and flaming decals all over.
Go rag on those type of people.

I didn't check the fitments so if you like em then they don't fit my apologies. I have to get some sleep to wake at 5am. The pics show 5 lug but you never know if you'll find them in 4x100 somewhere.

Re: Suggestion for 19" Chrome Rims
wow ppl are so close minded about chrome on civics...
Thats because some of us have never seen it done right.
Some of these rims posted actually look like they might work nice.

Murdock: That's why i'm asking for suggestions, because I have also seen very few chrome rims on civics that actually look nice...and I don't wanna end up ordering something that will look stupid..
Re: Suggestion for 19" Chrome Rims
As someone posted above... Chrome looks good it its tasteful which IMO is hard as hell to do on a civic..
And just so you;'d know. I have had 2 sets of 19's and now have 20's on my vic. The first thing you need to do after you get the wheels on is to replace the stock rotors with larger ones. I went with AEM big brake rotors and pads. You will find out that the cars stopping power goes away when you put the 19's on. I also warped my stock rotors in the two weeks I was waiting on the AEM's to come in.. So be prepaired... And good luck with your choice... Pm me or email me if you have any questions and I'll be glad to answer if I can.

Bear in mind...I have a keen eye and excellent taste
I will browse for more later tonight. I have a 16 hour day ahead of me.
Right now I have some cross drilled brembo rotors w/ EBC pads but I just bought some slotted Brembos w/ Hawk pads and SS lines. My cross drilled rotors warped so I'm trying another style. I was probably a little hard on them one day while braking from 80mph down to a hault on the NYS thruway.

Re: Suggestion for 19" Chrome Rims
OEM size replacements should suffice. I'm not sure of the exact measurements. They should come in a pair but sometimes they sell them individually.
http://www.allperformancebrakes.com/...ads_items.html
put in honda in your year on the left, then click civic on the next page, then find Brake disc on the long list...then you have brembo, ebc, powerslot etc to choose from. The powerslots are slotted and they have brembo blanks (no drill or slot, basically like stock but made by brembo).
They have crossed drilled or slotted for 160/pair w/ free SH, which isn't horrible, you can probably find them cheaper somewhere else. But that site has Free SH. I bought mine off a member on here. The other time I called some guy at a distribution center but that was over 2 yrs ago and I don't remember that site.
Hope this helps.

They charge for shipping to Canada:| lol....
If their the same size as the stock rotors, then whats the difference between getting those or keeping the stock ones? Also, I would need to get the front and the back right?
Have you ever heard of Inroble? (www.inroble.com)..if you go under the Sport Rotors section, it looks like they have the same kinda stuff...i can get those through the DirectBuy membership I have at a good price prob...are those good?

I haven't heard of inroble...doesn't mean they're no good. You can always try them if they're a good deal.
I'm heading out the door now so no more responses from me until after 9 tonight (east coast time).
Re: Suggestion for 19" Chrome Rims
i've been running 19's and the stock brakes for almost 2 years now with no problems...can't lower the car anymore cause the tires are rubbing already on tein s/s lowering kit; expensive but worth it by far...i'll send you updated pics of the car with new trunk set-up but as far as the kit kind of sick of putting $$ into car and looking at getting something new again...car has barely 21,000 miles on it but if i was going to do a kit it would be the buddy club 2 kit; see it's on sale on their site but have a feeling the car would be too low!!

Re: Suggestion for 19" Chrome Rims
i just got brembo blank rotors and hawk pads for about $150 shipped off tirerack.com. you may want to look there for brakes. they also sell wheels, but i've never looked at chrome, so i don't know what they offer.
i too, am not a fan of chrome on civics, it's just not my style. but, it's your car, and your money, so do what makes you happy. i would suggest that you consider 18s, and a subtle drop, possible tein h techs. i think that will give you a better ride, and less fitment issues. once again, it's merely one of those suggestions you asked for.

lol, I had 20" lexani chrome rims on mine w/ a drop and no rub, lol. I don't know what I was thinking though, looked ugly as hell now that I look back. But then I got some 19" Enkei RS-7 wheels in silver w/ polished lip in which I slammed it and looked way better. If I were you, don't go chrome.

Re: Suggestion for 19" Chrome Rims
the nice wheels that people have posted the ones that actually look good, good luck finding them thin enough to fit under our fenders. i have never seen chrome dont tastefully on a civic and i probably never will. to each his own its just not my style......that being said
throw some D's on that bitch :-P

Re: Suggestion for 19" Chrome Rims
Those are OEM/stock size, they will say big brake kit or something if they are any larger. You would need front & back only if you have rear discs, you have rear discs in Canada? I only have front discs.

Re: Suggestion for 19" Chrome Rims
I had 20x7.5 Lexani Chrome wheels under mine with a 225/35/20 tire and it didn't rub at all. All you have to do is roll your rear fender with a baseball bat and you should be fine. I was also running some 19x7.5 rims with a 215/35/19 tire with no rub and tucking.

Re: Suggestion for 19" Chrome Rims
i have 18 x 7.5 and there's no rub now and didn't have rub when it was lowered a few inches w/ skunk2 coils either.
if your brakes look identical in the front & back they're both discs, if they look different then you just have discs in front. I'm not sure if those came w/ discs or not off the top of my head.

Re: Suggestion for 19" Chrome Rims
I photoshopped the Bazo B52 rims on my car, I know its not an accurate image of course...but lemme know what you guys think...I'm putting up two pics, the first one is with the rims cut off another car and the second one is the tires from that car but with a clear image of the rims...Personally, I think they will look good once they're on..

Re: Suggestion for 19" Chrome Rims
I'd rock those out. The bottom pics looks closer to 20'' but the front more like 18/19. They kinda look like the wheels that used to come stock on the Lexus IS300, only chrome. They'll look 10x better in real life than w/ the photochop.
Most of your braking occurs in the front (if you only have front discs) so replace your front discs pads eventually. I'd wear out the ones you have 1st. Just be aware that your braking distance may increase.
