Brakes starting to fail? idk...

I have 60k miles on my car

I have noticed that my brakes are starting to suck

I changed them once...

I only changed the front ones

I guess I have to change them again... But, this time should I change the drums to? how much do those cost?

Im guessing I need rotors and pads again? can I DIY this? or should i go to a mechanic

60k wow i had mine done at 20k new pads and then at 40k now its almost time for more. i would take it to a shop because brakes can be tricky. have them check the rear drums too. but the front is cheap. get a pair of brembo blank rotors from www.dezod.com and then get some oem pads from the dealer. should be a lil over $100. then just have em installed. some places will include the brake check as part of the labor if you decide to have them replace the brakes too.

There's no indicators in the rear. You need to pull the drum cover off and look at the shoes.
Refer to the sticky thread up top.

when i had my fronts done.. about 22k, the rears had to be adjusted because they werent working properly and the fronts warped because of being overworked from the backs not doin their job.

also a common problem is the lug nuts being torqued differently which can warp the rotors too.

all i gotta say is screw all you guys.. i got the brakes done the day after i signed and got all the paper work done on my civic out of safety... ( i bought a car from a guy and he said he had new brakes on it .. so i believed him .. well 3 days later the brakes failed and i tore the tranny out of it stopping... so now every car i buy i put in new brakes the next day or so after FOR MY SAFETY AND EVERYONE ELSES!! )

and now 18k miles later i need pads, rotors, drums, shoes and calipers...

i deliver pizza in mine and the brakes TAKE A BEATING!!

im upgrading to stainless steel lines , hawk pads, brembo drilled/slotted rotors , Genuine auto parts drums and shoes and royal purple brake fluid...

lol my brakes are gonna be KING **** .. but i still gotta fix my civic... so after thats fixed its gonna be BRAKES ... then i should have no worries for about another 30-40k miles..
