195/65/14
195/65/14
My car is a 2002 Honda Civic lx with tire size of 185/70/14. Recently, I changed the tire size to 195/65/14 out of curiosity. Drives fun and makes driving more fun. However, I was wondering if this change can affect the engine and transmission in a small, negative way in the long run, specially since the tire size isn't the oem tire size. Can anyone confirm? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

it isn't exactly same size, but not much diff.
which your odometer shouldn't be off (maybe a little 0.2mph maybe lol? )
it shouldn't hurt your engine in a long run either
your fine dude.

imagine 2 people are made to walk a mile. one man has size 16 feet, the other has size 8 feet. they are both going the same distance just one of them will take more steps to get there.

yes it does!! Just not normally used on small cars like civics...but it's almost equivalent to the 185/70-R14 that comes with it. You can see pics of my car in my member gallery. I also have better pics if you're interested.
Gran Cacique, Try 215/40-17 or 205/45-17 to try to keep your speed accurate. Some people use 205/40-17 because they have more options and are cheaper, but street in PR are not the best so they might feel a bit harsh and you can bend a rim easier with less sidewall if you hit a bump or a pothole.
205/40-16 are smaller than the stock size, you'll feel the car accelerate better but your speedo will show higher speed than it's actually going. 8.36% faster according to the tire calculator.
