is there only buddy club !!?
is there only buddy club !!?
i've been doing some research for wheels as i am planning on getting a new set of wheels and tires for my EL for summer..
i was planning to get the buddy club P1 racing II plus, because for their price, i cannot find any other rims that are as light, as reliable (in general, buddy club parts are pretty reliable) and that looks as good (just imo)
they just cost a LITTLE (around $200 cdn) more than the better quality knock-offs ie: ROTA
i was just wondering, if there are any other brandnames out there that i don't know, that are around $800-$900 cdn for 17" ? which weights around 17 lbs like the buddy clubs??
i've checked, motegi, konig, ADR, Tenzo (the Tenzo Mean 6 is soooooo sexy).. on average they weight more than the buddy clubs, they're all around the 20/22 lbs range, except ROTA, who makes pretty light rims
please keep it to your self if you wanna comment on me being picky, and pay a fortune for lame brand name **** like the works, volks, and mugen.. it's not helping anything, they are good quality brands, but not everyone can afford to spend so much money on their cars, or keep saving up and spend 90% of their income on their cars

^ i have read thru FAQ
i think you should read it too, so that you know what is in it, before you go out and tell others to read it and look for info that the FAQ does not provide.
im just curious and wanted to ask people on the forum for their experience with other brands.
also keep in mind that, even in the "official rims picture thread", alot of the posts does not say the weight of the rims.
in fact, i've checked out motegi, konig, ADR, Tenzo.. and find that on average, the 17" weights around 20-22 lbs per rim.
it is funny how you said i am trying to learn by "posting my opinion", well yes, i've posted my opinion for the buddy clubs, now i wanted to ask other members if they have experience with other rims that are similar to my opinion, please tell me what is wrong with that.
guys, i think alot of us on the forums are trying to learn and share
maybe there are some questions that you think is noob, or stupid, or uneccessary to reply.. then keep your comments to yourself please, to respect others
if it bothers you that much because you think you've wasted a precious minute of your life to read the post, it'll waste even more time to reply your un-helpful comments. sorry if it has offensed anyone, but im really not trying to say anything mean.
but anyhow, i appreciate the help i got from members that are willing to respect and help out others.

stick with what you ordered and be happy....sounds like ya got a deal...if you're that worried about what 4-8 pounds dif between rims is....take laxatives and eat salad for the next 3 months....
I have said my peace and am done with the whole thing...
just my opinion.. if YOU think others havn't done enough research on their own, it is YOUR own opinion. if you don't know the answer, or don't feel like answering, please, once again, just ignore that post.
mod please close this thread if you could.

I like my Konig Heliums, good company and rims are very light and nice looking. I have them at 17" x 7, gun metal, weigting inly 15lb each. More hp to the ground!
Look similar to Rota Circuit.

Where did you order yours from? I personally OWN a set of the P1 racing II plus in gunmetal. 18 x 8 with 42+ offset. My tire choice was a falken ziex 512 215/40/18.
They are really nice rims! But try to go with a bigger sidewall. I recently Bent the lips on all 4 wwheels driving in the dark over a huge 3 inch square cutout in the road.
Anyway, where did u order yours? I love the rims so much i want the same set but this time i want Hyper Gold!!!

i got the enkei 17x7 rp02's with the sbc finish and weigh only 15lbs. i got them for 95 bucks each off edgeracing.com and they are normally $300's each

My old 17" SubZeros (Rota is the brand btw) were under 18lbs if I recall, and my new 18" SubZ are just a tiny bit heavier. Just enough for me, and frankly for the price I paid for them I don't care how heavy they are....they're a damn sight lighter than my 19's I rode on this past summer. I think they were over 25lbs from what the ADR staff said.
