205/60/15 vs. 215/55/15

So I'm looking at the Tire Calc on the site and the optional size for plus zero is 205/60/15 which has an effect on the speedo of 0.96% too slow.

I'm wondering why is it that people never mention or recommend 215/55/15 as an alternative. I did a search and had no result w/ that sizing. The Tire Calc lists it as 0.64% too fast. The size seems within the allowable tolerance.

Just wondering if there's something I should know...thanks in advance.

IMO I think that tire is too fat for the civic but I could be wrong...

The tire is too fat for the OEM rim. It'll become a safety issue. Generally, don't go more than +2 size larger stock. You could get away with 205. To fit 215 tires, you'll need a rim width of 7"-8" to safely handle the flexing during cornering.

ahh...I see...that makes sense. I was a little confused because I used to have 215/45/17 back when I had 17" rims on the car, but I guess since that rim was 7.5" wide, it was ok to go 215.
