Tire on 45 Offset 16" Wheel.

Hey people's, i just bought my intermilano rg6's and need to find tires to throw on them. I want to know if 215/40's will fit, even with the 45 offset, or if i should just stick to 205/40's. Id rather get the 215's but i dont want ANY rubbing.

Roo is an unknown quantity at this point
Won't 205/40/16's result in a fairly big speedometer error? 205/50/16's should be much closer to stock.

Lots of owners of 16 run with 205/45/16's -- which has ~3% speedo error. In my opinion if you wanted to run lower profile tires, why not just get 17" rims to start with? (avoid the speedo error)

45mm offset is close to the max according to the rule of thumb - however it "might" fit ok, or it might not. Offset is not the only factor.

I suggest that you buy your tires from a reputable tire shop that will "do the right thing" and help you get tires that don't rub.

i thought 40's were the closest to matching stock, Id like to keep speedo normal, so ill look for 205/45's or 205/50's thanks. I was thinking 45 was fine offset. But the guy who's selling them to me had them on a EK hatch, lowered 2.5" and he had no problems, so i figured i should be ok, since 7th gen's have more fender clearance, and im only lowered 1.3"

There are some 205/55/16's for sale on a local buysell, u think the sidewall is to big? they are dirt cheap. 200 bucks canadian for 4, with 60% tread. Think this will look fine or ??

Look at the bottom of this page - Click on the tire calculator link. Plug in your numbers, and you'll see which sizes match stock.
