On balance or Off balance

Hi,

I noticed that the steering wheel shacks at 70 mile/hour (110Km/hour). Most of people on this site said it is due to imbalance of tires.

Now for balancing, there are 2 type:

1. Balance the wheels-tires off the car, that is, you give them the wheels-tires, they balance and give them back to you.

2. You put on the wheels on the car yourself, they balance them on the car.

Option 2 is 15$ more expensive, the store claims it is better for after market wheels.

Can someone tell me the actual difference? I just want to vibration to go away do I have to use option 2?

thanks

olytrojan is an unknown quantity at this point
you don't need to have them balanced on your car. you car will ride just fine when you get them balanced with the wheels off.
