5-lug conversion question.

ok i want to do the 5lug conversion on my EM. i read up all over the forums on people telling me that i need custom axles this and that.
but what gets me is: my cousin has the stock 4lug w/ rsx axles. and they fit and everything. if they all fit on there. then shouldnt my stock civic axles fit straight on the rsx brakes??

You sure he doesn't have 4 lug hubs and Si axles?
The Splines in the RSX axles are a bit longer from what I hear, but you can't use either the Si or RSX axles and keep a D17 because the lengths are not the same... which is probably why someone mentioned the custom ones. You're just going to have to measure the splines.
Whats your reason for converting?

yeah thats what i was gonna do but i was afriad of breakage a local race shop was gonna press em for me...

Si axles= k20tranny------->D17(4 lug) knuckles
RSX axles k20tranny-------->K20(5 lug) knuckles
to do D17tranny----------->k20(5 lug) knuckles u need to join..

a D17 inner to a K20 outer at the CV joint.. take em to an axle shop...im not sure about lenght but they need to be same lenght as oem d17...

u can ghetto rig too^^^

so your saying that they'll fit. but they might have a chance of snaping off. how much do you think an axle shop will charge to get them together?
