ABS Question......

ABS Question......

I just intalled new tires, Falken Azenis, and replace my disks with brembro blanks, and pads with axxis ultimates.....


heres the questins is it Normal for me to feel the car going into abs alot earliers than befores, does upgrading my brakes and tires make it whant to lock up earlier???

I have heard that those pads are supposed to overpower the abs.

Its a lot more grip than all the stock stuff.... everything will grab harder, so what you think might be earlier is still more stopping power than you had before. Timewise, yeah, maybe, but the car is also decelerating at a higher rate too. And yeah, don't be surprised if the car skids before the ABS goes off....

What happens is the brakes are stopping much more rapid then the car was designed to with ABS, If the computer senses one wheel slowing faster then another. The computer thinks its about the skid so it goes into ABS mode. Off hand im not aware of any way to avoid this other then dissabling the ABS and thats not recommended.

On the street Leave the ABS on, it will save your *** in an emergency.. when your on track (Autocross, if you class allows it, or open track) Disable it. Its a well konw fact that ABS is bad news on a track, as it lowers the amount of braking you can do causing poor lap times.
