Question about bearings?

Recently, everytime I am on the freeway going about 50 or more, my steering wheel shakes. It isnt bad, but very bothering. Then when I put the brakes on from that speed, the steering wheel shakes pretty good and the feel in the brake pad sorda thumps. I am thinking this all has to do with my wheel bearings? What do you all think. I know it isnt my rotors because I have new brembo blanks, I am going to get the tires balanced tomorrow, and see if that helps.

if you have samll bends (from potholes) in your rims that wil do it, even if you get the tire ballanced. my car does the same thing and i just got powerslot slotted and ebc green stuff, its my rims doing it for me. if you take off the tire you should be able to hear the bearings grinding when u turn it or have side to side play.

even if the bends dont cause the tires to leak air?

bobbyd is an unknown quantity at this point
Yeah, I have seen pretty big bent wheels with no leaks. I would check the alignment and the wheel balance.

sounds like 2 different problems...most common causes are as follows

Steering wheel shake = Front wheels out of balance, not nessarily caused by bent wheels

Shake when brake is applied = Front brake rotors need machined, if not replaced

Other things can cause these things to happen but these two things are prolly 99% of the solutions

An Alignment WONT caues either of the problems directly

Did the shake when brakes applied start shortly after the new rotors were installed? if so there was runout in the rotor surface after it was installed that then caused the rotor to wear in unparrellism <spelling> and this can cause the shake when brakes are applied

So basically I just need to get them machined, right. I wouldnt see a need to replace them. They are fairly new.

new doesnt mean that there will be enough material to safely machine them. But that would be a good start. Sometimes a bent hub, or sticking caliper can contribute to the problem
