As a follow-up - I posted a thread on tire siping and mentioned the poor performance of my Firestone FR690's on my 2k1 civic. After researching tirerack.com and calling several local tire stores, I ended up going with the MV4+. Purchased a full set at Costco for $98.99 - installation, balancing, and disposal fees all included PLUS they have a current promotion for $60 off a full set - that brings it down to $83.99 per tire, which was competitive with the Yokahamas and continentals I was looking at.

We got snow yesterday (6 inches) and already I'm noticing that it drives better.
