e-brake and no accel?
I don't get it...When I have the ebrake up and I slam on both the gas and brake (I have auto, btw) the engine will only rev to about 3000rpm and then it cuts off the gas to the engine (rev limiter?). When I turn with the ebrake up the car will slow down and start to tilt forwards, almost as if I were slamming the regular brakes and ABS turned on by itself. When I touch the brakes when I'm executing this type of "maneuver" it feels like it's pulsing, but I only have the ebrake up.

If I don't use all three, then I'll be moving forward. Let's just say that I'm trying to properly launch an a/t...

the proper way to launch a auto is to go and get a manual, u are just killing ur torque converter and transmition, don't do it, it is very bad. and the reason it only goes to 3000 is because of the set stall speed... so people like u don't mess up ur transmitions

I'm thinking about it (conversion), but I think I'll save up for a new car instead of wasting my money on an auto to manual conversion for the family car. My sisters need to drive it too, and I don't think they'll be too happy with a stick shift. I'll flip out and kill people.

Dude so you are brake torqing (aka powerbraking)? You don't need the handbrake for that. It goes like this. Press the brake. Push the gas. Let go of brake. Launch. But don't do it too much. How high of rpms are you trying to launch from, anyway?

i thought powerbraking was for rwd cars... so that the front brakes are are applied with just enough to force to keep the car still, while the rears smoke

Torqing the motor up with the brake on to 3000 rpm approx is normal thats what is designed to do. As for ruining your transmision and or converter I would seriously doubt that unless you sat there torqing it for a long period of time. What it does do by torqing it up is it increases the tempature of the fluid and over time yes that could cause damage. Anything in excess is bad usually
I regularly launch Auto Trans in the 2800-3000 RPM and have had no transmision issues. I do suggest that if you do this ALOT, then buy an aftermarket trans cooler.
This is because the ABS can see the difference in wheel speed from front to rear. and when you touch the brake pedal the computer is assuming that you are in a skid of some sort and starts to accuate the ABS 'pulsing of the pedal' . From what your desribing it sounds normal.
