Rep Power: 0 first off if you are dropped any or not at all I don't think the 225/40 size is going to work with out rubbing, if it does it may be a tight fit. Try to stick with the 215/40's if possible.
Anyway, out of those choices My first would have to be teh Toyo T1-S, I currently have those on my RSX and they stick very well and are not that noisy. I have had the Nitto NT-450's and NT-555's, the 450's were not that great but were an okay all around tire they always felt like they were going to slip out on corners. The 555's were much better, but in wet weather traction was not the greatest. I have heard a lot of good things about the BFGoodrich G-force tires, the Tire Rack has reviews on those as well as the Yokohama Parada's which seem to be good also. The Falkens I have'nt heard much about but a few members here have that brand so they could tell you.

Rep Power: 0 Thanks For The Info
Fo Real? thanks bro... yeah my 2k1Civics dropped 1.75 and currently have nankang 215/35R18 and gives my rims lotsa dints from potholes and sure is hell on wet roads, that's why I was thinkin about a thicker meat on the grill, but I don't worry bout ice here, I'm in Las Vegas and it doesn't snow over where I live, I'm more worried bout wet roads... thanks for the info guys...

Rep Power: 357 If you are complaining about wet traction Dont get teh Azenis. While they will easily out perform all of the mentioned tires here , they are a Dry weather tire. (They dont slip when its wet out, they just REALLY dont like puddles i.e. they hydroplane quite easily)
Look for some thing like an all season tire.
Though when its dry out and I really want to have some fun, I'll take the Azenis over just about any DOT legal tire out there (Victoracers would be more fun)
as far as having 2 different widths on the front Vs the rear..... You shouldnt have any handling problems, as long as the wider tires were on the front.

Rep Power: 0 I'd only get different size tires on a RWD car, and bigger ones on the back at that. I think it would be a bad idea to put bigger ones on the front in a Civic, funny looking if nothing else, but that's just me.

Rep Power: 0 Finally Made Up My Mind!!!
Ok! I finally made up my mind after I made some reviews here and a bunch of other websites, it's either Yokohama Parada Spec 2 or Toyo Proxes T1-S, though I have to find out which ones cheaper... I have to find that out the market (Las Vegas)

Rep Power: 0 hey pnoyster, is the import car thing big over in Las Vegas? i was just there from the 27th to the 1st (HAPPY NEW YEAR!!) and didn't really see much down there. i asked this guy i know that works in a shop and he says it's not very big.
anyway, let me know what you go with. i'm also looking to buy a set (rims and tires) and i've just about narrowed the rims (Nippon Type R 17' Yellow) and i'm thinking of going with the Toyo T1S or Falken 512 Ziex, but leaning more towards the Toyos.
the worst thing about all this is the number of choices, especially for rims. just gotta put your foot down and make a choice.
