Rep Power: 307 Wheel backspace question
Im looking for a set of 15X8's for my drag slicks, and I really like the wheel vintiques 06P racing wheel. It has a 5.5" backspace will that push a 9" slick out of the fender well? For thoose of you who dont know what backspace is this should help.

Rep Power: 0 I would say that those may work. You have a 9" tread width for the tire and an 8" wide rim. so you are looking at roughly an 1/2" overhang past the wheel on both sides, maybe a little more. Your backspacing is 5-1/2" and with the extra 1/2-5/8" sticking out you are looking at 6"-6-1/4" in the wheel well. As you probably already know you won't be able to turn very sharply anyway with that wide of a tire, which you wont care about going down the drag strip.
Now just to be sure, take one of your rims off that are on the car now and measure from where the mounting face of the wheel sits against the hub (you are measuing on the car, not the wheel), now see if you can go about 6" into the wheel well without hitting any suspension pieces and parts. If it looks like a tight fit try a 5" back spacing or lower until you have a comfortable spacing where nothing looks like it will rub.
This may not be much help but I hope it helps you a little.

Rep Power: 307 First of all thanks for your help, I was worried that no one would know anything about this. When the wheels are straight I have 4" between my 205 series tires and my intercooler piping, so I guess theese rims will work ok. so once again thanks.
