Stock 15 inch rims from the Coupe and tire options.
Stock 15 inch rims from the Coupe and tire options.
Sorrie if this is was posted before. I have a question which I need an answer quick, cause I need to decide on what to do this week. My rims on my civic are the stock 15s and I was wondering if 205/60/15 will fit on the rims. Please help me out. Also I would like to know what good brands make this kind of tire. Thanx. I want summer tires by the way not all seasons...but if there isn't any...all seasons are fine too.

I just ordered 205/60/15s for the 15" rims I'm getting. It will make the speedometer .96% too slow, but it will give you 2cm more tire touching the ground. I got Falken ZE 512's for $210 shipped from vulcantire.com. They are all season tires, which you don't want, but Consumer Reports gave them the highest score out of all the all season tires they tested. They're supposedly awesome when it's wet or dry, and there's a review of them a few posts down.
The stock wheels are 6" wide, so you'll have to see if a brand's particular tire will fit that width. I know these tires will fit 6.5" wide rims, which is what I'm getting.

If you want a high performance "summer" tread, the Yokohama AVS ES100 is available in that size. It is a very well thought-of tire that can be mounted on a rim width anywhere from 5.5" to 7.5"

ya, how "Summer" of a tire are you looking for?
and would you mind a tire that would only last 1 summer (But it would be one hell of a ride)

2 tires, Falken Azenis or Kumho MX.
Both are absolutly amazing when it comes to dry traction. size you'd be looking at is a 205/50-15 for both, thats approx 5.47% smaller diamiter then stock so you'll have a bit of a gearing advantage Vs stock = quicker acceleration.
Falkens should run $60-70
Kumhos $70-80
I have a set of Azenis for my race tires, and they are one of the top tires for my class of racing (STS)
On the street, these should last between 10,000 and 15,000 miles
I wear mine out in about 8,000 (Autocross eats tires)

The FALKENS click here are a real bargain in an all season tire, and the YOKOHAMAS click here should also meet your budget for a summer tire.

what about a "longer lasting" summer tire. 10k to 15k miles doesn't sound like the best bang for the buck... i don't care if they stick like glue.
examples:
Yokohama AVS ES100
Kumho ECSTA Supra 712
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S
the Azenis and the MX in there class are easily the best bang for the buck, costing around $60-80 their only real compititon is the BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KD but those cost $163 for a tire with the same size contact patch. (The falkens 205 is wider then most 225's).
Just know that
1.Max performance tires will stick the best but last the least # of miles
2.Ultra High performance will stick less then max performance tires but last longer
3.High performance will stick less then Ultra High performance tires but last Longer
4. Performance tires will stick less then High performance tires but last longer.
6.. Ect. ect. ect.....
If you want something that sticks better then Max performance Summer tires then DOT approved Compitition tires are availble. they MIGHT last 5,000 miles but I doubt it.
examples.
Kumho V700 Victoracer
Hoosier A3S03
Yokohama A032R
Michelin Pilot Sport Cup
