bad vibration... help

I just put on a set of 15" rota C8's with 195/55/15 rubber... I never had any tuner lugs so I used my stock bolts and stock wheel lock the wheel is on very tight.. but at 55mph and up I get a bad vibration coming from the wheels... anyone with rota C8's did you use hub-centric rings? or could it be my stock wheel locks throwing the tire out of balance, those wheel locks are pretty big. also could it be that I am using stock bolts instead of tuner lugs??
thanks for the help

Loosen all the lugs and tro to see the space around each of them. If you have they same problem I used to, the wholes on the hub of the wheel are bigger than the studs coming out of your car, you basically have to align the hub, keeping the space around each lug equal. This fixed my problem, hasen't given me a hard time since.

Get new lugnuts. You cant use a ball nose lugnut in a conical taper. You put all the force on 1 little ring and you'll destroy the wheels.
When you get new nuts, get centering rings. You don't need them if you can accurately torque the bolts down, they will stay in place.

Take off wheel locks and put stock lugs back on. I had the same problem and couldn't figure out what the hell was wrong after 5 tire balances at 3 different shops. Finally took off my wheel locks one day for the heck of it, and problem was solved.

You mean you didn't go get them re-balanced yet?

Damn, that's the first thing you should have done... I thought you were having this vibration after you had them re-balanced already.

Yeah, that's I meant dude ... go back a 2nd time. Crappy balancing jobs are a common occurrence.

If your steering wheel starts shaking after any kind of balancing job, take it back to the same place and bitch about it.

Lots of times, I've had to go back more than once cuz of crappy balancing jobs on their first try. Seems like they only take the time to do it properly the 2nd time after I complain.

I've watched some places simply throw the wheel and tire on the ground and do a "Ground Centripical Force" balance.. just threw some weights on it. (pep boys lol) Typically when you get vibes at a certain MPH then it's out of balance.. quit spending money on different lugs. Hub rings are also for people with a glass butt, which is the last stretch a person will go to rid of the vibrations people feel with larger wheels and narrower tires.
