Exclamation HELP- Stock vs. 17's w/ 45mm

So my rents say I can't buy 17's and put em on because it will mess up my spedometer and some other stuff, but I say it won't. the problem is that I don't know how to prove that if I get 17's w/ 45mm tires that it won't mess anything up? ASAP because i'm dyin to put on some 17's but this isn't helping...

45 mm tires? You mean 45 series tires? All I can say is do a search, this has been covered many, many times. At least read the wheel/tire FAQ.

Click on this link to the TIRE CALCULATOR

#2
Get the parents and bring them in to the computer

#3
On the left side of the tire calc, put in the stock EX size 185 65 15
>Point out the overall diameter of the stock tire is 24.49 inches

#4
On the right side of the tire calc, put in these two 17" sizes: 205 45 17 & 215 45 17
>Note that the 205 is actually a quarter of an inch shorter than the stock tire, so tell them there will be no rubbing problems and the speedometer will stay within 1% accuracy
>If you choose the 215 width, the tire will only be a whopping 0.15 inch larger in diameter but the speedometer error is still only 0.64%

215/45/17 is a hair larger than stock ---> Less miles than actual---> Longer Warranty.
