Powdercoating the intercooler was pretty dump, it is going to interfere with the cooling. It should have been ANODIZED if all he wanted to do was change the color.

looks sick. but i've read in a magazine you can paint the intercooler with no problem, they even painted it with automotive spray paint...

Yeah. I was reading a couple articles on painting it. It interferes but the percentage is SO small in the reduction of cooling that is is unnoticable.

looks like a nice setup.
1 recomendation though...
take the header wrap off the header. It will cause the metal to heat-soak and become brittle. And the vibration from the exhaust pulses will cause it to break.
The full-race manifolds are stainless, they dont need the header wrap anyway. and that is an expensive manifold to have break.

my buddy had a similar setup to that in his hatch.
built GSR with a lovefab manifold, 3" downpipe, aeromotive fuel pump, little larger intercooler, turbonetics 60-1.
His best time was a 10.90 @135 on the stock struts with a set of lowering springs.
The car got stolen right after he installed the Strange Suspension. Never got to run it with the good suspension setup.
Im sure your friend will love the setup.

i think a better option for the crank would have been a b16 crank. it would allow for a higher rev with lower mean piston speeds. but it all depends on the rest of the set up as well. nice ride it should be hello fast.
and turbo does your friend work for dynamic autosports??? one of those guys had his vic stolen as well. went to sell it and traded positions with the prospective buyer when the guy jumps in and takes off never to be seen again.

naw, my buddy did his car completely himself. He was at a buddies house, walked outside and it was gone.
They stole it using a flatbed. They found the car on its side in the middle of the desert --- completely stripped.
