IMA system doesn't work when cold outside
I have a 2006 Honda civic hybrid that keeps giving me codes U0037, U1205, U0037, U1205, and U0037 only when its cold outside. The IMA light comes on, the red battery light comes on and the green drive light starts blinking. The IMA battery will not charge or give any type a status. The IMA system is disabled completely. I checked all the IMA fusses and they are all fine and also checked the plug underneath the rear seat, that was good as well. I did have to replace the 12v battery but the problem remains. When it is 70degrees or warmer it runs fine no codes the IMA system runs perfect. Can someone please point me in the right direction.....

Re: IMA system doesn't work when cold outside
Were they new units? Old batteries tend to work acceptably in the warm, but the cold is what kills them. That would explain why it's fine when it's warm out.
Re: IMA system doesn't work when cold outside
I was told that they were replaced prior to my son in law buying the car. That's all I know. I did not get a code that the batteries were deteriorating or going bag though. Only the four codes that I posted.
Re: IMA system doesn't work when cold outside
Okay. I'm a pessimist but I'd question the legitimacy of that claim unless there's proof suggesting otherwise. The batteries are expensive to replace so it's fairly common for people to claim they've been replaced to retain value.
Re: IMA system doesn't work when cold outside
from my understanding if the batteries were bad it would give me another code. Right? That’s what I have researched so far.
