Question on AC Compressor
Question on AC Compressor
Hi All,
Seems I am in need of a new AC compressor for my 2014 Hybrid Civic.A couple of questions for the folks here.
Question: Is replacing the AC compressor more labor intensive (costly) on a hybrid Civic than replacing the AC compressor on a non-hybrid Civic?
Question: How much should I expect to pay to have the AC compressor replaced on my hybrid Civic? I am in Iowa. From casually looking for parts online, it looks like a new compressor is around $250. So I assume labor is the majority of the cost. I was quoted by one shop at $2300 for replacing the compressor alone.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Question on AC Compressor
Currently having issues with my 2012 Hybrid Civic compressor as well. I think my issue is the clutch it's noisy, but it still works. In my research I've found that this compressor is EXPENSIVE! Mainly because it is also a hybrid. It runs off the engine belt when the engine is running and has an electric motor to keep the compressor running when the engine is stopped. The $2300 part quote sounds correct, which is why I'm trying to just replace the clutch. The labor should be close to the same as a regular compressor. Came here looking to see if previous generation parts will fit.
