AC Clutch not working
AC Clutch not working
Hey all, before I give up and take my 2009 civic to a shop, I thought I'd ask around here. My AC was not blowing cold air so I took a look at the compressor clutch which was not spinning. After much research on youtube I decided to change out the clutch assembly (coil, pulley, and clutch plate). Still not working. When I first start the car cold, it'll engage for a good 15 seconds but then disengage. Then it'll engage for like a second and disengage and continue to do this. I don't think it's the relay cause I changed the clutch one out. I used one of those DIY ac/pro canister w/gauge and the low side reads about 30 psi when the clutch engages. Could it be cause it's low on refrigerant? Is my compressor about to die? I have run out of ideas. Thanks for any help.
Re: AC Clutch not working
I did recharge the refrigerant before deciding to change out the clutch. I used one of those acpro canisters you get at oreillys. Attached it to the low pressure side and filled it up. Used up the whole 12 oz.
